Sorry Guys I'm not in; continue working on the tasks. Treatments should be nearing completion for most. Jordan and Aaron remember you need to continue to try and catch up. Year 12 your tasks
You should all complete the tasks up to the treatment by the end of the holiday. (Monday 5th November). All tasks are set on the blog. E-mail me if there are any issues.

design layout, illustrations, competitions, and marketing strategies to
ensure the magazine is commercially viable. Please include mock ups of pages
as examples for each category (design layout/ copy/ illustrations/ marketing/
competitions). You will also need to provide evidence of marketing & advertising
meetings as with the letters in your previous task

Treatment (2000 words)
Below is a checklist for your
treatment (you should not be ‘reinventing the wheel’ but gathering all your
preproduction work together:

Introduction to
your project. Explain about the magazine project and who is involved and what
how you intend to run the project- who is involved? Who is supporting the
project? Budget? Sponsors including advertising revenue?

How do your ideas
for a magazine fit in to the values and beliefs for the project of your
client What is the schedule for production?

How did your
research inform your decisions on design and layout; colours and typeface;
illustrations; printing methods? How much is being digitally produced and how
much mechanically produced?

What issues do
you foresee when producing your magazine and what contingencies have you put
in place?
·
Explain more
about the team involved and what qualifications do they hold?

What is your
message; what are you trying to convey?
·
How did you
choose your experts or feature writers and how will these influence the
audience?

Explain in
depth the production process?

What is your
outline budget and how will you ensure that your project is sustainable over
time?

Summarise your
project and assure your client that they can trust your company and you can
bring the project in on time and to budget.
Remember: You will need to explain in detail your proposals for the

7.
Produce a 1000 word
production plan for your college magazine explaining what technology will be
needed to produce the magazine and what qualities you think your magazine
needs to imbibe to ensure that it is an effective factual communication;
please include in this plan time schedules/ deadlines and roles and
responsibilities within the group.
This task will need an
introductory paragraph that discusses how you will ensure your magazine
becomes an effective communication- you will need to discuss layout and
design, colours and type and also editing and proofreading etc. You will then
need to draw up a production plan that covers the research gathering to
magazines returning from the printers.

Stakeholders
Include research on stakeholders; for example sponsors/ advertisers etc. You will need to use your research to form your ideas about the design, layout and content of the magazine. Unit 3 Research Learning Outcomes
For this unit you need to show that you:
- understand what the research techniques are for example; the difference between production and market research and the differences between primary and secondary research; what research methods are available and what type of data can be gathered (qualitative & qualitative); and what research institutions can be accessed to gather data.
- be able to apply these methods to your own research for your documentary ie: gathering secondary research and primary research on your topic.
- can present a PowerPoint explaining the above.
